Search engine optimisation (SEO)
Search engine optimization also known as SEO is a procedure to maximize the quality and volume of traffic for a site like blogs on search engines through un-paid or natural search results, different from Search Engine Marketing which are paid inclusion. The main theory is that if the rank of the site is higher in a search engine, then it will receive more traffic compared to other lower ranked sites. Search engine optimization sets target on different types of search like local search, video search, vertical search for industries and image search engines. These all factors give the site, a well defined presence on internet.
SEO:
SEO is a part of Internet marketing, thus it focuses on how internally search engine works, the type of site mostly searched by people and may other factors, in order to optimize the web page ranking. It is mainly done by editing the contents of the site, the HTML part of the site and other associated coding in order to increase the relevance to particular keyword and also to remove the barriers of indexing activities that search engine offers. Sometimes “Search engine optimizers” offers SEO as stand-alone services or part of broadened marketing campaign. Since sometimes SEO needs to change the HML code of the page for optimization, so these days SEO tactics are incorporated to site design and development.
Search Engine Marketing:
Search engine marketing also referred as SEM is actually an internet marketing strategy that aims at increasing the ranking of the site and for promoting new websites by massively increasing the visibility of the site on “Search Engine Result Pages” also referred as SERP. This work is done by Search engine marketing with the help of paid placement, search engine optimization, paid inclusion and contextual advertising. But this is slight different from SEO, SEO is an un-paid inclusion but SEM is a paid inclusion. The terms SEO are used very inconsistently. The internet trading association SEMPO that is “Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization” involves the use of SEO and all the industrial definitions of the Search engine marketing uses internally uses SEO through eMarketer, Forrester Research, Search Engine Tracker and Danny Sullivan, an industrial expert.
Search Engine Positioning:
Just creating a site on a web is not enough, because it that site is not properly optimized then its position on the search engine page will not be optimum and the site will not get much traffic, even though its contents may be better from higher positioned sites. So another important job needed to be done after creating a site, is to properly optimize that site by making it compatible and friendly with the search engines. These optimizations of the site for”Search Engine Positioning” should be done before launching the site on the World Wide Web. If proper optimization of the site is done by obeying the rules of Search engine optimization and Search engine marketing by taking advices from expert agencies in this field then the position of the site on the search engine page will be maximized and thus the traffic on that page will also be maximum but one time optimization is not enough, the site has to be maintained regularly to maintain that rank on search engine page.
