Logo design & branding
A logo embodies the image and perception of the company in the minds of the customers. Thus, it becomes very important to develop a logo which should, to some extent, complement the theme, or the philosophy of the company. For a company which follows a theme of simplicity, it wouldn’t do t have a flashy and unorthodox logo. A logo forms a tangible, physical representation of your brand, something which the customers should be able to associate with, or relate to. Thus, designing a logo is one of the principal jobs of marketing, and making the logo acceptable to the people, especially to the customers, as well as to relate it to the underlying philosophy of the organization, all these fall under the topic of logo design. Though it remains a fact that in most cases, the development of the brand is what made the logo popular, rather than the other way round.
All your business stationery, your websites, any other form of media releases or products, everything should carry the logo. It helps in building a relationship with the customer. Another important point is to remain consistent with the company logo design. Be it colors, proportions; ensure that the logo remains the same everywhere. Creating the company logo design is again, the most significant job for the marketing and publicity team, as the logo is the most effective marketing asset that the organization owns. A logo should not be developed on a particularly recent trend. While developing a company logo, longetivity and acceptability of the logo should be considered. Most of the successful companies use simple, classic icons as their logos, which have never gone “out of fashion” with the times. A logo based on a temporary trend will ultimately lose acceptance as that particular trend goes out of vogue.
Creating a brand identity is much more important than choosing and propagating a logo. A brand may seem to be nothing more than a catchy phrase or line, in sync with the product features, but in reality, it is much more than that. A successful branding attempt means that a loyal customer will reflexively recall the product as the one and only alternative in a particular condition. All these are achieved by aggressively advertising a particular brand and literally brain washing the general population for their own benefit. Building brand loyalty is as important to the survival of the product as is creating the brand identity. While branding means setting up a certain respect for the brand in the market, creating brand loyalty means developing a loyal customer base, which will sustain the market for the product, even in the presence of competitors.
Loyalty to a brand is usually obtained by providing certain incentives to the customers, such as cash incentives, discounts, or gifts with purchases. Companies may provide special coupons to attract more customers. In exchange of these coupons, companies are able to obtain the average spending habits and preferences of the buyers, and they use this information to better develop their incentives and offers so as to better attract the customers and increase their loyalty towards the brand.
