Online Timesheet Management System
Diana Duggan is a high-end recruitment company based in London, catering for Blue Chip organisations in a broad range of market sectors.
The brief was to create a comprehensive online timesheet system that would refine the whole submission and approval process of worker timesheets. Diana Duggan wanted their clients to be able to review and approve timesheets quickly and easily, whilst being able to query submitted sheets where necessary. The system would require different levels of accessibility to workers, the client and the staff at Diana Duggan.
A multi-tier account system was created, allowing workers, line managers, Human Resources managers and the staff at Diana Duggan to access the relevant information and areas of the system. A full back-end administration account was also created to enable Diana Duggan to manage and update the system.
The system itself was created using PHP, Javascript and MySQL. It calculates hours worked, rates of pay, variable rates of overtime and holiday pay. All rates and variables are content manageable via the administration account. Line managers can approve and decline timesheets, with a comments facility allowing them to liaise directly with the worker. Email alerts were set up to notify the relevant users when a timesheet is approved or queried and a full archive facility was also created to allow the client and worker to keep a record of timesheets and export them in Excel format where required.
The result is an intuitive system that has provided Diana Duggan, their workers and clients with the ability to manage and control the timesheet process in a way that benefits all parties involved.
