The Southend Learning initiative is a partnership of Essex-based education bodies headed by South East Essex College. The brief required a brand identity to be developed and integrated in to a website design, as well as promotional print material. The website had to encompass the initiative as a whole and include a search engine facility that would allow users to search all courses available in the area across all the participating institutions. The search engine had to restricted to a specific database and selection of websites from which to pull information. The site’s construction and search engine integration required significant coding and customized software development, specific to the needs of the project and client. Once completed, users could search freely and easily, with the main Southend Learning site seamlessly connected to the other websites and databases. The brand design was bright and accessible to all, providing prospective students with a one-stop shop for all their information needs. Supporting promotional print material strengthened the brand further.
