Royal Opera House

Creative Partnerships: Creative Town Fair

Royal Opera House Creative Partnerships in the Thames Gateway works with over 100 schools across the region to deliver innovative, long-term partnerships between schools and creative professionals.

Our participation in the scheme involved the preparation and delivery of projects to students ranging from six to twelve years old, in a variety of institutions. Schemes of work and lesson plans were created to guide the tutorials and the overall project aims, whilst members of the team spent an average of four hours a week teaching pupils about creative media and techniques, ranging from website design and branding, to fine art and badge making. Sixredsquares have then produced a range of media platforms such as websites, banners, leaflets and photo books to showcase the work created by the students in their sessions.

The scheme has allowed sixredsquares to work with a wide and diverse range of schools and institutions and, of course, some of the most inspiring and challenging young people you could hope to meet.
