Mobile Internet Development 0

Aug10

Like the high level of investment and development in the nineties, when the internet was spreading fast and PC’s had finally found a wider market, mobile access to the internet is reinventing the way we interact with the medium.

The iPhone and Android share this fast growing market and dominate mobile internet traffic. The reason for this is simply because their technology offers the best display and interaction with regular websites.

The trend is growing fast. In fact, if you think about it there is 3.4 billion people in the world with mobile devices today and 1.3 billion of them are mobile internet users. Up to 33% of these people access the internet solely via their mobile device. In the past few years we have seen incredible changes in the levels of internet users and the way in which they access the internet.

Designers and developers have a growing need to be educated in this area and must be ready to design websites that accommodate these technological advances and the demands of  the modern user. We are very aware that these changes are part of our industry and we make every effort to continuously adapt and expand our services to meet the needs of our clients and their customers.

The interaction with these mobile devices brings new situations and challenges. The strategy and approach of the designer must be adapted to meet this new paradigm and the effect it has on design, development and marketing. A creative agency cannot offer its clients innovative, cutting edge solutions if it is not at the forefront of technological evolution.

Prom Show Logo Featured on the Metro Website! 0

We’ve just completed a project promoting the very first Prom Show in the UK. Our task was to create the brand and website for the show as well as promotional material like posters, leaflets and the show brochure styled as a high-school yearbook.

The Prom Show also hosted one of the early heats in the Miss England contest, with Rosie Godfrey-Lockwood picking up the prize of ‘Miss Prom Show Essex.’ She was presented with the prize by Miss England herself, Jessica Linley, and news on the event appeared on the metro website. Sagmeister – We now live in a gigantic website! 0

One of the most influential graphic designers in the world, Stefan Sagmeister has updated his website after many years. Like the man himself the homepage of the website is very innovative and inspirational. It displays the studio in real-time feed, providing you with a fresh view of the goings-on of the studio. Above is a time-lapse of the crew putting the office together for the studio shot.

Building creative partnerships 0

Our latest creative partnerships project has taken us to the Basildon Lower Academy, a state of the art learning facility for secondary level students. The newly developed institution offers learners a contemporary environment in which to learn and modern, personal support to encourage achievement.

We were approached by the academy to contribute to their u:Friday workshop program by creating a project that would promote creativity and use of media among their students. The project would have to encourage creative thinking and develop the skills required to produce suitable outcomes, using appropriate media.

The team created a brief focusing on advertising and design that would encompass a range of digital and print based outcomes such as website design and branding. The students are currently re-branding the u:Friday day, learning to create an identity that communicates the exciting creative challenges they are undertaking. They will be developing their skills in the creative process and producing outcomes that will work as part of an advertising campaign.

The project will culminate in a big finale in December and our students will be creating the promotion for the event. We look forward to seeing what they produce.

Award-winning business. 0

sixredsquares recently picked up their fourth business award, winning the Business to Business category at the Southend District Business awards for the third year running. It is another milestone in what is turning out to be an exceptional year, with sixredsquares emerging as one of the most prominent creative agencies in the South East of England.

The night itself was the usual mix of champagne, ball gowns and cheesy smiles but this year we managed to keep ourselves sober enough to take a decent picture for the newspapers.

All joking apart, winning awards such as these are vitally important to maintaining our upward momentum and receiving recognition from some of the best businesses in the area just shows how sixredsquares continues to grow, both professionally and creatively. The business to business category in particular represents recognition of the value we add to our clients’ businesses, through innovative, functional design that brings them closer to their customers and helps to raise brand awareness.

As sixredsquares continues to grow and attract global organisations such as Bloomberg, it is important to maintain our profile in the local area. We value our place in the local business community and this award should certainly help to keep the home fires burning.
